VISIT TO LOHAGARH FARMS-EYP

As part of an educational trip, the students of Pre-nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten visited Lohagarh Farms on Friday, 7th of February 2020. The visit helped them to have a better understanding of the wonders and joy of the natural world. It also exposed our little ones to the raw, ethnic village setup.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the magic show, puppet show and an entertaining performance by the acrobats. They had a memorable time going on for different rides like tractor, camel cart and bullock cart. Children enjoyed the adventurous activities like commando crawl, Burma bridge, commando net and walking on the balancing beam.

All the activities were supervised by the experienced and qualified staff members of the camp, ensuring the safety of our little ones.

Children were served sumptuous meals which they all relished. It was a fun filled day with a great learning experience.


Recreational Outing to Madhavgarh Farms On 15th February’20

After an exciting first semester which had activities and academics galore, our learners definitely deserved a recreational outing. In order to rejuvenate their young minds in the mid-session, the school organized a one-day trip to Madhavgarh farms on 15TH February’20.

A day at Madhavgarh farms was the most awaited break for our students.

The Adventure Sports Venue provided a perfect opportunity for students to plunge headlong into a plethora of activities like games and sports, rural activities, adventure activities and things from the cultural heritage of our country that brought the students closer to our varied heritage. The day was packed with a combination of fun filled activities and leadership skill enhancing games. It was heartening to see the students going all out to attempt the sports challenges with excitement and enthusiasm.

The outing helped to expand students' learning beyond the school with a zestful element of camaraderie and amusement.

This was indeed an exciting and fun-filled experience for the learners as they made memories while having a lot of fun!


Visit to Religious Places-EYP

God is our protector that’s what we imbibe in our children at school and in our homes. To take blessings of Almighty God and to have an exposure of all the major religions of the country and to learn about the basic tenets of these religions, the students of Elementary Years Programme visited a Church, Gurdwara and Temple on Monday, 23rd December and Tuesday, 24th December 2019.

The children offered their prayers in the temple. They covered their heads and washed their hands before they sat down to listen to the ‘shabad’, at the Gurdwara. They also experienced the preparations going on for Christmas and enjoyed singing carols, at the Church.

The students returned with first-hand experience of different religious places and religions followed by the people of India. The concept of faith, prayers and belief was introduced to the little ones who basked in the glory of divinity and peace.


Visit to Mineral Museum

86 students of Class X went for an educational outing to Gargoti Mineral Museum, Connaught Place, New Delhi on 8th November, 2019 (Friday) during school hours.

This trip was planned as an extension of the chapter ‘Mineral and Energy Resources’. Students gained an appreciation of the natural resources like minerals and utilization of the same in the economy. The main objective was to authenticate concepts taught in class, as students saw first-hand relevance and application of the subjects learnt in the classroom, in the real world. This museum featured a vast collection of minerals, gem stones & crystals, from various parts of the world besides a rare dinosaur egg, samples of moon rock, and some fossils. It was a great learning experience for students.

We extend a heartfelt thanks to the school management, Director Ma’am for allowing us to engage in this experiential learning.


Visit To ‘I Dig History’

School field trip is an effective educational activity for students that helps facilitate fast and efficient learning. With this belief, the students of Kindergarten were taken for an excursion to ‘I Dig History’ at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on 14th, 16th & 17th October 2019.

‘I Dig History’ is a children’s play museum dedicated to the cause of edutainment wherein children learn about both natural history and mankind's endeavours through the passage of time. It is the first of its kind in India in its conception and execution. It promotes experiential edutainment using a matrix of hands on activities, virtual reality and thematic craft.

The children were engaged in a mix of motor activities, virtual reality, sculpture painting and free play in an exciting setting of dinosaurs, Egyptian pyramids, space ship and sail ships.

The children got an opportunity to role play as an archaeologist, a palaeontologist and an astronaut, using their methods and tools of working. They were given access to a variety of digs such as Dinosaur Dig, Egyptian Dig, Greek Dig, Astronaut's Moon Dig and Cave Mining Activity.

The aim of the visit was not only to experience the thrill of discovery by digging and exploring but also return home having learnt some facts about archaeology, history, space and art. To make the experience rewarding for kids, a small souvenir was given to each child. It was a day full of learning for the little ones.


Visit to Suncity Market-EYP

Field trips play an important role in learning. They link the classroom experience with the outside world and in doing so they drastically improve the process of learning, and also give both the learners and educator valued practical experience.

In order to help children, acquaint with the ongoing topic in a better way, we chose to go for a visit to a grocery store in the Suncity market. The students of Kindergarten visited the store on Monday, 9th of September 2019.

The objective of the visit is to help the children understand the procedure of buying things from a grocery store, counting the number of items bought, calculating the amount to be paid, showing the bar code, making payment and receiving the balance amount.

The children bought the items for themselves and made payment for the items bought. They calculated the amount to be paid and the balance received after making the payment.

The children were given a reflection sheet to help them recollect and reflect their learning from the visit.

The trip was a success as the children exhibited high levels of enthusiasm and at the same time followed the essential agreements and norms.

In order to connect with our Inquiry in a better way we chose to go on a field trip to Star Hyper Market, Gachibowli. The children saw a wide variety of food and goods which help us to follow healthy habits on a day to day basis.

Lunch With The Director To Kingdom Of Dreams On 27th Sept’19

Suncity School believes in encouraging and motivating each student to reach for the stars and appreciating them when they do so. With half-yearly getting over, Lunch with the Principal was the perfect opportunity for the student achievers of our school to celebrate their hard work and well-earned success.

The date chosen was 27th September’19, when 67 student achievers got this unique privilege to go out for Lunch with our Director, Ms. Rupa Chakravarty to a fine dine restaurant in the Kingdom of Dreams. The selected students of junior and senior school enjoyed the food served to them and took pride in the fact that they were having it with the Head of the institution. They displayed their sanskaars and etiquettes and did not forget to thank the people who served them. This lunch is not only a part of the school tradition but also a great source of inspiration, not only for those who had the chance to go with the Head of the institution but also for others who aspire to work hard to achieve the honor.

All the children thanked the Director, for always inspiring and encouraging them and being a great mentor. This was indeed a memorable experience for the young learners who will cherish it forever!

FUN GALORE AT SUMMER CAMP FROM 22ND TO 61ST MAY 2017

The summer break brought in an engaging and creative summer camp that was organized from May 22nd-31st, 2017. The students had a wide range of activities for all ages and choices in the year of “futuristic divergent thinking”.Swimming lessons were ideal to beat the heat as well as learn the fundamentals of Swimming and Gymnastics taught the intricacies of concentration and discipline. The students displayed great learning and enthusiasm in learning Taekwondo. Skating attracted a lot of children who displayed zeal and zest for the sport. Badminton, Soccer and Basketball had a huge attendance of students. Yoga was actively pursued by many. From the field of Performing and Visual Arts, the students explored the nuances of Indian Music, Western dance, Indian dance, Pottery, Stitching, Cooking, Art and Craft.On the final day, May 31, 2017, the parents were invited to see what their children had learnt and they witnessed that a lot of learning with fun had transpired. This summer camp imparted life skills to the students.

VISIT TO BIKANERWALA – EYP

Memories of the school educational trips are among the most prominent of the formative years because they are a welcome break from the routine for both students and teachers. While their purpose is essentially to educate, they can also be a fun bonding experience for everyone involved.As a part of the educational trip, Elementary Years Programme had organized a Manner Development Outing to ‘Bikanerwala’ in Sector 54 for the Nursery and Kindergarten children on 17th & 18th of May, 2017. The objective of the outing was to give the opportunity for experiential learning to the little ones, to make them learn the basic etiquettes, decorum and the appropriate behaviour at public places. It was a great learning experience for the children.

INDO-FRENCH CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM AT LYCEE L’ OISELET SCHOOL, BOURGOIN JALLIEU, FRANCE FROM 6RD APRIL TO 12TH APRIL 2017

The Suncity School, Gurgaon added a new chapter in its endeavour to establish a tradition of cultural exchange .24 students and 2 teachers from Suncity School , Gurgaon visited Lycee l’ Oiselet, School, France as a part of this 12 day student exchange program, which was organised by Lycee l’ Oiselet School. These students and teachers resided with the students and teachers of the host school as part of this program for a rounded exposure to the French Culture.The student exchange programme conducted annually with its French partner is gradually becoming a tradition with the culmination of 6th such program. The exchange programme was aimed at giving the Indian students a complete feel of the French tradition and culture. Like every year, the students were exposed to French culture for 12 days in a planned manner. The activities and projects of learning planned for them introduced them to the different facets of the French history, culture and tradition.The plan consisted of attending lectures at the school, getting involved in their class for getting the feel of their teaching- learning process, visit to the medieval town of Cremeiu and Grenoble. The Indian students and teachers spent the weekend with their host families. The farewell given to the Indian team had everyone touched to the core of their hearts.The team moved to Paris for a two-day stay and visited Eiffel tower and Disneyland. This was icing on the cake and added to the grandeur of the trip.
