SPECIAL CLASS ASSEMBLY : GRADE II B - A REPORT

May 27, 2025

The hands that build a nation deserve to be honoured with the highest respect.

With this kind thought in mind, the students of grade II B at Suncity School, sec-45, presented their Special Class Assembly on Thursday, 1st May 2025, titled “The Helpers We Often Forget”. The objective of the assembly was to delve deeper into the significance of Labour’s Day, moving beyond mere formal observance, and exploring its true essence — one that is rooted in respect for hard work, compassion for the working class, and recognition of the selfless contributions of those who support and sustain our daily lives.

The assembly began with the News, covering all important national, international, Sports News, and the Weather forecast. The ‘Thought of the Day’ and the ‘Word of the Day’ were also shared and enriched students’ knowledge.

To celebrate this very important day, the students conducted a thoughtful and engaging assembly that paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of the many helpers who form the backbone of our society.

In a heartfelt enactment, students assumed the roles of various community helpers, shedding light on the indispensable services they provide. Set in the imaginative world of Mysticland, a short skit was performed in which a student portrayed the role of a teacher, leading fellow students on a symbolic "Walk of Gratitude". During this walk, they expressed appreciation to the school’s support staff—including the janitor, the school nanny, and the watchman—acknowledging their tireless dedication.

To further honour these every day, unsung heroes, students presented them with handmade greeting cards as tokens of gratitude and respect. The assembly served not only as a creative expression of appreciation but also as an impactful learning experience. It instilled in students a deeper understanding of the dignity of labour and the vital role every individual plays in the functioning of society.

This meaningful observance helped foster empathy, respect, and gratitude—values that lie at the heart of community living.
