God is our protector that’s what we imbibe in our children at school and in our homes. To take blessings of Almighty God and to have an exposure of all the major religions of the country and to learn about the basic tenets of these religions, the students of Elementary Years Programme visited a Church, Gurdwara and Temple on Monday, 23rd December and Tuesday, 24th December 2019.
The children offered their prayers in the temple. They covered their heads and washed their hands before they sat down to listen to the ‘shabad’, at the Gurdwara. They also experienced the preparations going on for Christmas and enjoyed singing carols, at the Church.
The students returned with first-hand experience of different religious places and religions followed by the people of India. The concept of faith, prayers and belief was introduced to the little ones who basked in the glory of divinity and peace.
86 students of Class X went for an educational outing to Gargoti Mineral Museum, Connaught Place, New Delhi on 8th November, 2019 (Friday) during school hours.
This trip was planned as an extension of the chapter ‘Mineral and Energy Resources’. Students gained an appreciation of the natural resources like minerals and utilization of the same in the economy. The main objective was to authenticate concepts taught in class, as students saw first-hand relevance and application of the subjects learnt in the classroom, in the real world. This museum featured a vast collection of minerals, gem stones & crystals, from various parts of the world besides a rare dinosaur egg, samples of moon rock, and some fossils. It was a great learning experience for students.
We extend a heartfelt thanks to the school management, Director Ma’am for allowing us to engage in this experiential learning.
School field trip is an effective educational activity for students that helps facilitate fast and efficient learning. With this belief, the students of Kindergarten were taken for an excursion to ‘I Dig History’ at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on 14th, 16th & 17th October 2019.
‘I Dig History’ is a children’s play museum dedicated to the cause of edutainment wherein children learn about both natural history and mankind's endeavours through the passage of time. It is the first of its kind in India in its conception and execution. It promotes experiential edutainment using a matrix of hands on activities, virtual reality and thematic craft.
The children were engaged in a mix of motor activities, virtual reality, sculpture painting and free play in an exciting setting of dinosaurs, Egyptian pyramids, space ship and sail ships.
The children got an opportunity to role play as an archaeologist, a palaeontologist and an astronaut, using their methods and tools of working. They were given access to a variety of digs such as Dinosaur Dig, Egyptian Dig, Greek Dig, Astronaut's Moon Dig and Cave Mining Activity.
The aim of the visit was not only to experience the thrill of discovery by digging and exploring but also return home having learnt some facts about archaeology, history, space and art. To make the experience rewarding for kids, a small souvenir was given to each child. It was a day full of learning for the little ones.

In order to help children, acquaint with the ongoing topic in a better way, we chose to go for a visit to a grocery store in the Suncity market. The students of Kindergarten visited the store on Monday, 9th of September 2019.
The objective of the visit is to help the children understand the procedure of buying things from a grocery store, counting the number of items bought, calculating the amount to be paid, showing the bar code, making payment and receiving the balance amount.
The children bought the items for themselves and made payment for the items bought. They calculated the amount to be paid and the balance received after making the payment.
The children were given a reflection sheet to help them recollect and reflect their learning from the visit.
The trip was a success as the children exhibited high levels of enthusiasm and at the same time followed the essential agreements and norms.

Suncity School believes in encouraging and motivating each student to reach for the stars and appreciating them when they do so.
